Through community-based programming, curriculum design, and professional development, We As One Education Initiatives strive to inspire learning and growth that build bridges across languages, cultures, and communities.
Join Us to discover stories of how we advance language, culture, and ethnic studies education by empowering and connecting educators, strengthening school programs, and fostering intercultural competency—sharing counter-narratives with courage.
We’re thrilled to share that We As One Education’s “Rooted in Culture, Connected Through Community: A Fellowship for Asian Language Educators” fellowship initiative has been selected, along with five other outstanding projects, for the University of Minnesota’s Liberal Arts Engagement Hub Residency for the 2025–2026 academic year!
The Liberal Arts Engagement Hub Residencies are chosen to deepen the culture of public engagement in the College of Liberal Arts, and provide vivid examples of how community collaborations grounded in the humanities and humanistic social sciences can have an impact on the broader community. As part of the residency, each project will receive funding, access to Hub space and university resources, project amplification, and more.
Our fellowship will bring together different Asian language educators — including Chinese, Hmong, Karen, and Korean — and leaders from local Asian cultural organizations. Together, we aim to co-create high-quality heritage language reading materials and a culturally responsive, community-centered curriculum.
We are deeply excited about this collaboration with Minnesota educators, community leaders, and the Liberal Arts Engagement Hub! We hope it will further strengthen and highlight how community-driven, humanities-based work can create lasting impact through language and cultural education.
Stay Tuned! Fellowship opportunities for Asian language educators will be opening soon!
